About

Chad Prevost.

Chad Prevost is a writer, editor, podcaster, and former magazine publisher based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He holds an M.Div. from Truett Theological Seminary, is an ICF-accredited coach and a Certified Enneagram Coach, and is the founder of Crossroads Publishing Group. He co-founded the literary press C&R Press in 2006 and ran it as publisher through July 2015, publishing more than forty titles in that span.

His essays and poems have appeared in The Washington Post, The Southern Review, The Chattahoochee Review, Mid-American Review, and Puerto del Sol, among other journals, and his work has been recognized with two Pushcart Prize nominations.

Chad is the author of multiple books. The Iris Blackwood Mystery series for middle-grade readers and the UBU Adventure series for young adults publish under his IF/THEN Books imprint. His forthcoming work of literary nonfiction, The Crisis of Being Nobody, will publish through Crossroads Press in late 2026 or early 2027.

Chad hosts The Difficulty, the podcast of Crossroads Publishing Group, where he interviews writers, scholars, and practitioners about the work of taking the difficulty seriously.

Outside of writing and publishing, Chad coaches writers in the developmental stage — those working from idea or stuck draft toward a viable manuscript. More on that at the coaching page.
